How do you answer IT requests from one Slack channel?

An IT helpdesk AI Employee that lives in one Slack channel. It answers password, app access, and how do I questions straight from your IT docs, and routes anything that provisions an account or changes access to a named human for sign off instead of doing it itself.

Problem

Most of what lands in the IT channel is the same short list: a locked account, "how do I get into the analytics tool," "where's the VPN setup guide." The answer is already sitting in your IT docs. But every one of those pings pulls someone off deeper work to look up something that's written down, and the requests that actually need an admin's hands get buried in the same stream. The reflex is to route everything to a person, which means the trivial and the sensitive compete for the same attention. And provisioning an account or widening someone's access is exactly the thing you don't want answered on reflex from a chat message. It needs a named human to look at who's asking and sign off.

What it does

When someone mentions it in the IT channel, the helpdesk AI Employee reads the request with read only access to your IT docs and identity provider. For a documented question, such as a password reset path or an app access how to, it replies in thread with a grounded answer that points to the source. Anything that provisions an account or changes access becomes a routed request for a named human to approve; the AI Employee never makes the change itself.

How it works

See exactly how the work gets done.

Answers when mentioned, in the thread

Triggered by a Slack mention, it works one request at a time in the thread it was called into, so every answer stays with the question that asked it.

Carries the answering and routing rules

Which questions it can answer from docs, and the exact line where a request becomes an access change that needs sign off, travel with it as a skill.

Connects to your docs and directory, with permissions you set

It searches the knowledge base and reads the identity provider read only. Credentials stay in memory, never written to disk, never exposed to the model.

Answers documented questions only

For password, app access, and how do I questions it replies with a grounded, cited answer. It never invents a step or guesses at something the docs don't cover.

Routes every access change for sign off

Provisioning, group membership, and permission changes become a routed request naming what's asked and who asked it. A named human approves before anything changes.

Guardrails

Answer from the docs only

It answers only what the IT docs cover, with a citation. If the docs don't clearly cover it, it routes to a person instead of guessing.

Never changes access itself

Provisioning and permission changes are always routed for approval. The AI Employee has no authority to grant, widen, or create access.

A named human signs off on access

Every account or access change waits on a specific person's approval. Nothing irreversible happens on the strength of a chat message.

Runs in your environment

Access to your docs, directory, and SaaS admin is scoped and brokered, never exposed to the model or the logs.

You own every rule

The answering scope and the line that gates an access change are yours, versioned and changed on your terms, not in a vendor dashboard.

The outcome

The routine "where do I / I'm locked out" questions get a cited answer in the thread within seconds; the requests that actually move access show up as a clean, named request for someone to approve, and nothing in between gets granted on autopilot.
